Research topics for the Masters of Science on Civil Engineering program at PUC are framed under four big areas: (i) applied development of geophysical rupture models and characterization of scenarios and synthetic ground motions using satellite and surface information, (ii) study and model the fragility of structural systems (housing and buildings, hospitals, lifelines and infrastructure), (iii) development of human-structure interaction models under extreme loading conditions using agent based modeling (ABM), and (iv) study the behavior of human agents in extreme environmental conditions (lead by psychology).
